CMBM were engaged to complete several construction projects over a 12-month period at Brisbane State High School, including innovative new office configurations, a storage facility, HVAC upgrades, and a building extension.
CMBM delivered functional and contemporary building upgrades for the client, providing the school’s students and administration staff with modern spaces to learn and work in. All projects were delivered during the school holidays to avoid interference with school operations.
PAC Storage Facility
CMBM constructed a storage room in the Performing Arts Centre (PAC) to provide a dedicated space to store equipment. Located on the second floor of the building, additional precautions were required to ensure construction was carried out safely and to schedule.
Works involved:
The result was a durable and complementary addition to the Performing Arts Centre that provided much needed storage space for the PAC team.

H Block Upgrades & HVAC Installation
CMBM upgraded the lobby area and installed a HVAC system to Brisbane State High School’s heritage-listed H Block. Prior to installing the new split system air conditioning unit, conduits were installed throughout the building.
As one of the oldest school buildings in Queensland, the project required careful planning and construction in order to adhere to heritage-listing requirements.

D Block Extension
CMBM facilitated the extension of D Block by constructing three new offices along the back wall of the building, and demolishing the wall between the classroom and existing office to extend the learning space. A final builders’ clean was carried out to prepare for the handover of the new space.
This project was completed within two weeks to ensure there was no construction during the school term.
