Residents and visitors of the Sunshine Coast Council (SCC) are enjoying clean and safe spaces from CMBM Facility Services, thanks to our commercial cleaning and maintenance contracts across 155 locations throughout the region.
Providing quality property services for SCC since 2016, CMBM have recently been awarded a five-year contract for continual cleaning and maintenance services to the area. This comes as no surprise to our dedicated Sunshine Coast Council cleaning team, who won ‘Most Valuable Cleaning Team’ at the BSCAA 2022 Queensland Excellence Awards!

Parks and amenities
CMBM cleans over 140 parks and amenity sites throughout the Sunshine Coast Council region, including BBQ stations, public toilets, car parks, information centres, skate parks and memorials.
With cleaning schedules ranging from daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual cleans, our team has grown from 10 core employees to 28 in order to meet demand. In addition to routine cleaning services, CMBM provide grounds maintenance, periodic specialty cleaning and emergency cleans, offering greater flexibility and support for SCC’s parks and gardens management.

Positive feedback isn’t new to the team, who have received compliments from locals and the council about the cleanliness of the area. One Currimundi resident refers to their local park restrooms and BBQ area:
‘I’ve seen [the cleaners] picking up pieces of rubbish piece by piece and placing lost property in obvious places so it’s hopefully seen,’ said the local.
‘I can tell they take pride in their work, I’m very impressed. I usually say good morning and they are very friendly.’

Challenges
Working late at night and early in the morning, our team regularly encounter intoxicated, misbehaving, and homeless people in the locations they clean, including in the disabled toilet blocks.
Our Site Supervisor, Simon, handles these situations with an empathetic and dignified approach, showing understanding of the individual’s situation and respectfully communicating the job he is required to complete.
Having always shown genuine care for people in need of support or medical services, Simon has provided immediate first aid and alerted appropriate emergency services on more than one occasion. CMBM commend Simon for continuing to go above-and-beyond for the residents of Sunshine Coast Council.
Sunshine Coast City Hall (Maroochydore)
CMBM were recently awarded the servicing of the new, high-profile City Hall building in Maroochydore. Consisting of over 10 levels covering a total of 9400m2, CMBM are proud to manage the commercial cleaning of the $66 million building to ensure a hygienic and safe space for council staff and visitors.

Sugarbag Road Mountain Bike Trails
CMBM provides cleaning and maintenance services to the mountain bike trail along Sugarbag Road in Caloundra West. As a trail boasting 11km of sharp turns, bridges, ramps, and various jumps, CMBM maintains the area with safety as a number one priority.
